Alton Towers Gardens

Alton Towers, one of the UK's top theme parks, have just announced that they will be reopening their Gardens on Saturday 6th June as a result of the Government's decision to allow outdoor paid attractions to open. It states on their official website that they will reopen with a limited capacity with reduced hours of operation.

Many people may question why this information is important, as all rides and attractions, as well as the Resort accomodation will continue to remain closed at the moment but this marks an important step on the journey to getting Alton Towers theme park reopen, hopefully in time for the Summer season.

Alton Towers posted a video on their facebook page today saying that during lockdown, engineers have been busy maintaining the rides. Oblivion is featured in the video filmed by a drone. The video will certainly excite any Alton Towers fan.

In order to comply with government safety guidelines, all tickets must be pre-booked online and a number of measures have been put into place in order to keep employees and guests safe. These mirror the guidelines that were announced by the Health, Safety and Security Director, Jonathan Ellis, on what guests should expect to follow when Alton Towers theme park reopens and include:

  • Pre-booked tickets online only
  • Parking directions allowing for social distancing
  • Guest Temperature checks, prior to entry
  • Contactless payment where possible

UPDATE -  Alton Towers have just released a guide on their official site, plan your visit before you visit, so be sure to check that out if you are planning to visit the Gardens anytime soon.

All bookings for the resort have been cancelled up to and including 3rd July, so we are expecting the 4th July as the earliest possible reopening date to be announced.
