3. Disney’s Hollywood Studios - Sorcerer’s Workshop

Mickey in Hollywood Studios

Pros:

The Line: Sorcerer Mickey has been moved around several times in the past year, and while you might have to check the map next time your at the park to find him, once you do you're almost guaranteed a short wait as guests haven't had a long time to get used to his new spot in the park.

The Costume: If Mickey was to have a second most popular costume, it would be his Sorcerer Mickey outfit. This red robe and blue pointed hat is a familiar sight and makes for an iconic picture.

Cons:

The Location: As mentioned above, Mickey’s new location can be hard to find.  He is currently located on Mickey Avenue, between the Walt Disney: One Man’s Dream attraction and Pixar Place (the space was once home to The Legend of Captain Jack Sparrow attraction).  If you are not looking specifically for the space, it would be easy to walk right past it.

It’s Probably Only Temporary: Disney's Hollywood Studios is going through a major rehab.  Nearly half of its attractions, characters, stores, and restaurants have been affected by the ongoing construction, and because of this it’s very likely that this meeting area will be moved again within the next year or two.

4. Disney’s Animal Kingdom - Adventure Outpost

Pros:

Double the Interaction: In this character meet and greet, Mickey is joined by his favorite lady friend, Minnie Mouse.  This is the only park where you can meet them together, which can make for some unique moments.

The Atmosphere: This meet and great features perhaps the best themed interaction room of all the other meet and greets, with the space and background themed around Mickey and Minnie’s adventures.  Quiet, instrumental music is always playing, making the space feel less like it’s in the middle of a theme park and more like an actual office on the outskirts of a jungle.

The Personal Feel: The meeting area is fairly large, and the character attendants do a great job creating a little distance between parties.  Each group usually gets the meeting room to themselves, with the group behind them coming in around the end of the interaction to be “on deck” once the first group leaves.  The space feels very personal, as if no one is in the building but your group, Mickey, Minnie, and the supporting Cast Members.

Cons:

The Costumes:  For this interaction, Mickey and Minnie are wearing their khaki safari outfits and hats.  It certainly fits the Animal Kingdom feel, but the costumes aren’t iconic or classical.

The Line: There is nothing interactive or distracting for young children, leading to bored kids.  Parts of the line also take place in small hallways, which can feel a little claustrophobic.

Where is your favorite place to meet Mickey?
