Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure at EPCOT, Disney

Since October 1, 2021 when Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure opened at EPCOT, just in time for the start of Walt Disney World's 50th Celebrations, the attraction has had a virtual queuing system which guests have had to access through My Disney Experience App. It has also had individual Lightning Lane access available to purchase through Genie+.

Beginning on January 10, guests will no longer be able to access Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure at EPCOT using the virtual queuing system but will instead be able to use the standby line. For those not wanting to wait in line, guests can continue to purchase a Lightning Lane with prices ranging from $8 - $11 per guest for one ride.

The Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure at EPCOT is a 4-D dark ride, largely the same as the one at Disneyland Paris. This attraction, which uses trackless technology to "shrink" guests down to the size of a rat, takes riders on a thrilling journey through the bustling kitchen, dining room and walls of Gusteau’s famous Paris restaurant.

Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure at EPCOT opened with mixed reviews with some enjoying the new attraction:

"There’s a lot to like about Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure. It’s a thematically-appropriate addition to Disney’s dark ride lineup, and it does offer some surprises that make it stand out from similar rides at Walt Disney World. Everyone has different preferences in what they enjoy about rides—it’s part of what makes Disney parks magical--, and I have no doubt that kids and Ratatouille fans will love it." Jett Farrell-Vega

But others have commented saying they feel underwhelmed by the large use of familiar 3D movie gimmicks and "despite the trackless vehicles, the ride feels like a 3D movie that just happens to incorporate movement and simulator elements."

With the news that there will no longer be the option of a virtual queue for EPCOT's newest attraction, it will be interesting to see just how long wait times will be over the next few months in the standby line. Will you end up having to purchase Lightning Lane for Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure? Is it worth the price? Is it worth waiting in line for?
