Changes will happen before the ride officially opens
Gameplay is really fun, but during our ride through things got a little confusing as there were so many people aiming at so many things, that seeing all the reticules on the screen got a little overwhelming. However, hopefully the next time will be better as the loading procedure gets refined before the attraction's official launch later this summer.
Another part of the attraction that we weren't able to experience is the attraction's integration with the Universal Orlando Resort app. Once the ride has fully opened guests will be able can sync up their blaster with their Universal account on their phone, and will then be able to see their score history, embark on special missions, and even unlock perks and powerups they can use in the attraction.
Villain-Con Minion Blast is definitely not a ride, and as we said earlier, it is a little weird to stand on an attraction. However, the game itself is actually a lot of fun, and the ability to move around without being constrained by lap bars or mounted blasters makes this attraction feel very unique.
If you've been skeptical about this attraction, we certainly don't blame you, but if you find yourself at Universal Studios Florida and want to try something wholly new, Villain-Con Minion Blast is definitely worth checking out!
