Mandrill Mayhem, Jumanji

Chessington World of Adventures and Sony Pictures announced in August 2022 that they will open 'World of Jumanji' in Spring 2023. This will be the world's first Jumanji themed land. Chessington World of Adventures is located in Surrey and is one of the four largest Merlin theme parks in the UK.

Chessington World of Adventures confirmed at the end of February that the 'World of Jumanji' will open on May 15th, 2023. Chessington World of Adventures is running a competition to win VIP tickets to be the first to ride. In order to be in for a chance to win, you have to subscribe using the online form and then play five games. Each completed game gives you an entry to the draw. Game 3 is now available to play. For further information regarding the First To Ride VIP Event and to play Game 3, check out the official website.

The $20.5 million, world's first Jumaji land is set to bring to life some of the exciting adventures from the original 1995 film starring Robin Williams. We learnt back in December the names of the new attractions which will feature in 'World of Jumanji'.

Chessington World of Adventures has now released new art work of all three of the attractions in 'World of Jumanji' which can be seen below.

Mandrill Mayhem is the highly anticipated world's only Jumanji roller coaster featuring an inversion which is the first for Chessington World of Adventures. It will give guests great views of the entire land all seen from the long arms of the Mandrill.

Ostrich Stampede and Mamba Strike are the two flat rides in 'World of Jumanji' which should be enjoyed by younger guests.

We already knew that there would be a new thrill ride, a jungle styled entrance portal which will be covered in overgrowth and a 55-foot-tall Jaguar Shrine structure awaiting the Jaguar’s Eye jewel that will lift the curse. We now know the names  of the attractions which include a Wing Coaster called 'Mandrill Mayhem' and two flat rides called 'Ostrich Stampede' and 'Mamba Strike'. We also now know that there will be a Jungle Maze for guests to try to navigate, be warned some paths are trickier than others!

The advertising focuses on bravery. "A FANTASTICAL LAND IS SOON TO ARRIVE. YOU'LL NEED TO BE BRAVE IF YOU WANT TO SURVIVE."

Chessington World of Adventures also has a zoo and is primarily aimed at families and children aged up to 15, with majority of teenagers and young adults opting to visit nearby Thorpe Park which is filled with hard hitting roller coasters such as Nemesis Inferno, Stealth, SAW - The Ride and The Swarm. Bringing Jumanji to Chessington World of Adventures seems like a very sensible decision for Merlin and should be the perfect fit for the park.

We will bring you news of the official opening date for 'World of Jumanji' which is scheduled to open, Spring 2023. We expect this new land will debut very close to the first day of the season which is 23rd March but we await confirmation on this. For further information on this new land check out the official Chessington World of Adventures website.
