Disney’s Hollywood Studios

Disney’s Hollywood Studios used to flag at the rear of the pack for dining options at Walt Disney World, but this park has seen improvements in recent years, including in its offerings for mindful diners.

Our favorite spot to eat healthy fast remains Docking Bay 7 at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. Like everything else at The Black Spire Outpost of Batuu, Docking Bay 7 is designed to feel like a spacer’s eating hall straight out of the Star Wars saga. Our go-to healthy choice is the Felucian Garden Spread. If you’re looking for a meat-based option, consider the Peka Tuna Poke or the Roasted Endorian Chicken Salad.

For a more traditional counter-service option, you may want to try the ABC Commissary. Disney recently updated their menu to introduce new healthy options for guests including sandwiches, a Mediterranean Salad, and a plant-based California Burger.

For table service, the only place we might suggest is The Hollywood Brown Derby. I will admit, our last experience here some years back wasn’t great, but they still remain one of Disney’s classic signature dining locations. Healthy eaters will find a good selection including Sea Scallops, an Heirloom Tomato and Burrata Salad, the Seasonal Fish, and of course, the Brown Derby’s famous Cobb Salad.

The resorts and Disney Springs

We could spend an entire article looking at healthy eating options at Disney’s resorts and shopping districts, but there are a few noteworthy locations we wanted to highlight.

Our favorite resort quick-service location is Picabu Market at the Walt Disney World Dolphin—a restaurant most guests have never heard of. Tucked away in the deepest corner of the Dolphin, this nearly 24-hour cafeteria is an absolute gem for those looking to eat healthy (or late!). We have had good luck eating healthy here thanks to their Chipotle-style burrito / bowl bar, where guests can choose their choice of a protein, base, and vegetables to put together a taco, burrito, or bowl that matches your health preferences. Other locations to consider for quick resort dining include both Contempo Café and Steakhouse 71 To Go at the Contemporary Resort, as well as Spyglass Grill at Disney Caribbean Beach Resort.

For table service, the restaurants at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge reign supreme for healthy eating done delicious. Our two favorites are Boma (thanks to its incredible African-inspired buffet, which includes plenty of healthy choices) and Jiko, one of the best places we have ever eaten at Walt Disney World. Over at the Epcot resorts, The Flying Fish is another excellent signature option if you’re looking to toe the line between healthy and fine dining. For those looking for sushi, both The Contemporary’s California Grill and Kimonos at the Walt Disney World Swan are good choices to consider.

A quick word about Disney Springs—the dining scene here is extremely diverse and ever-changing. We recommend spending some time surfing menus to narrow down choices here. A few popular suggestions include The Boathouse (beloved by many paleo diners we know), Morimoto’s Asia, Rainforest Café, and Wolfgang Puck Bar & Grill.
