The story

Writer Brandon Seifert and editor Bill Roseman had Rolly’s illustrations to work off for Seekers of the Weird, but they still had to design a story that centered around his artwork. Here’s the description on its Disney Wiki page:

When their parents are kidnapped, teens Maxwell & Melody Keep are thrust into a thrilling race through the world’s strangest – and most treacherous -- museum!  With the aid of their mysterious and swashbuckling uncle Rolly, it’s up to the young heroes to rescue their family and save the world from an evil secret society!

It feels like a great Disney movie

Seekers of the Weird is extremely entertaining, very much in the vein of a classic Disney animated film. The characters are well rounded, the action is exciting, and it all feels like a great homage of the work of Rolly Crump.

The Museum of the Weird was actually almost the inspiration for a movie, but in my personal opinion this comic book series is a better tribute to the original Imagineers. Highly recommended.
