3. Disney keeps "bonus" Genie+ attractions as part of $15 per day service for the foreseeable future

Disney announced back in February that Expedition Everest, Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway, Remy's Ratatouille Adventure, Frozen Ever After and Space Mountain would only be included as part of the Disney Genie+ service (instead of individual Lightning Lane selections) for a limited time until August. However, it looks like Disney has reversed course, and now these attractions will not be leaving the general service pool of attractions and will be available as part of the $15 per day service for the foreseeable future.

With this change that leaves only Guardians of the Galaxy Cosmic Rewind, Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance, and Avatar Flight of Passage as the only attractions that use the premium individual Lightning Lane upcharge, which features surge pricing where the cost to skip the line at each attraction changes depending on demand and can cost between $10 and $17 per person, per attraction.

4. New Genie+ tutorial videos now available on the Disney website and inside My Disney Experience

With all the changes that have been hitting the Genie+ and Lightning Lane system recently, it is understandable that some guests could find themselves confused about how the system works, even if they've had experience with it before. Fortunately, Disney has released six tutorial videos explaining some of the finer points of the system to guests. These videos are available both on the Walt Disney World website under “Getting Started”, and on the My Disney Experience App. Topics covered include the difference between the $15 per day service and the individual Lightning Lane program, instructions on how to use the Tip Board, the features of the free Disney Genie program and more.
