This week marks the one-year anniversary of the groundbreaking Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance attraction at Disney's Hollywood Studios, and though this ride continues to be the most popular attraction at Walt Disney World, unfortunately, one year after its initial opening, this ride is still having trouble operating normally. Just today, the opening of the attraction was delayed until noon due to unspecified technical issues, which means boarding groups were not called until two hours after the park opened, severely limiting capacity for the day, which is already low with social distancing measures in place. 

However, even when the attraction is up, guests have reported a host of issues with this attraction, including the following:

• Pre-show screens black 
• Canons not moving 
• Attraction stalling for minutes at a time during show scenes
• Kylo Ren Animatronic in "B-Mode" 
• Lightsaber effects not working

Unfortunately it looks like this ride has some serious issues happening right now, but there is sadly no way for Disney to plan a refurbishment right now, as many guests are visiting the resort solely to experience this attraction and there would definitely be some serious backlash if they closed Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance for even a few days. And while after hours maintenance could potentially help this attraction run smoother, but with heavy budget cuts now in effect, we'd imagine this is being kept to a minimum, if it is happening at all. 

Though Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance had a rocky start when it debuted last year, we were hopeful that as time went on this attraction would become more stable, similar to what happened with Hagrid's Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure at Universal Orlando Resort's Islands of Adventure, which also suffered from operational issues at first, but found its footing several months after it opened. However, with the COVID-19 Pandemic forcing Walt Disney World to close earlier this year and severe budget cuts in effect for the foreseeable future, it may be awhile still before this attraction runs smoothly and consistently.
