It was back in January 2019 that Universal Orlando announced that a new Jurassic Park ride would join their impressive line up of attractions at Islands of Adventure.
Universal has continued to work on "Project 791" throughout lockdown, which will be a new roller coaster themed to Jurassic Park. According to several reports, this new Jurassic-themed attraction will be a multi-launch roller coaster with twists and turns and a top hat element, loosely themed to the raptors seen in the Jurassic World series.
If you have had the chance to visit Islands of Adventure since it reopened, you will see much of the track installed in the Jurassic Park area of the park, including a heartline roll.
Although the name for this new roller coaster hasn't been confirmed yet, Universal has trademarked the name "Velocicoaster", so we think this is likely to be what it will be called when it is announced!
New construction photos posted online
MouseSteps have posted a video and photos from August 11, 2020 showing the latest construction work that has been done on this exciting new Jurassic Park Coaster at Universal's Islands of Adventure.
The track is installed and there appears to be a lot of rock work and greenery as well. Great views of this can be seen from the U-Rest area at the front of the park.
