5 Confirmed and Rumored Refurbishments Coming Very Soon to Walt Disney World (April 2016)

4. Blizzard Beach (the whole park!)

Image: Disney

Status: Confirmed

DatesApril 3 - 5, 2016

Blizzard Beach has been having some hard luck recently, as it has faced a number of unexpected closures after reopening for the spring. Though the official reason for these closures was simply reported as "technical problems", some sources have said that these closures are actually happening because of water pumping issues with its Summit Plummet and Slush Gusher attractions, which is a problem that actually began happening back in 2015.

However, though it has taken quite some time, it looks like Disney may be finally getting ready to fix these issues once and for all with a short refurbishment next week. While no official cause has been given for the sudden closure, permits that have been filed recently reference a "Blizzard Beach Summit leak" which may indicate that a permanent fix is finally on the way that will stop these unintended closures from happening before the summer season kicks into high gear.

5. Twilight Zone Tower of Terror

Status: Rumored

Dates: 2017

A few weeks ago we discussed the details of what is, quite possibly, the craziest rumor we've ever heard. In the time since we originally took a look at the possibility of a Guardians of the Galaxy overlay coming to the Twilight Zone Tower of Terror, this rumor has only grown, and has incited outrage among fans on social media who believe this attraction to be perfect just the way it is.

In the days since this story started making the rounds, some sources have implied that while top-level discussions are still underway concerning the conversion of the Tower of Terror at Disney California Adventure into a Guardians of the Galaxy attraction, the plan to bring this overlay to Disney's Hollywood Studios may have stalled or even been scrapped.

It's important to note that nothing official has been said about this project by Disney, but those who consider themselves to be massive fans of the Twilight Zone Tower of Terror at Disney's Hollywood Studios might not have that much to worry about after all, which would certainly be a relief.

I can't even imagine how GotG continuity would fit in the Tower of Terror style of ride unless there is so,etching coming next year in GotG 2. I still believe we will see a new skin at Rock 'n' Rollercoaster in the near future, and GotG would fit well there.

They just need to keep these two rides just the way they are. Wasn't there a rumor about changing out Aerosmith for Hannah Montanna on Rockin Roller Coaster a while back?
