The 5 Massive Changes Coming to Disney's First Overseas Resort

4. Tokyo DisneySea to also get an upgraded stage

Tokyo Disney

In addition to the eighth port, Tokyo DisneySea will also be receiving a brand new  moveable stage installed at the Mediterranean Harbor. This movable stage will feature the latest technology and offer larger viewing areas for shows and construction has actually been fast-tracked so that the stage can open relatively soon on March 1, 2015.

5. Construction on these new areas will be ongoing for the better part of the next decade

According to the expansion announcement, construction on these new areas will kick off early next year, and work is projected to last through 2023. We don’t know when or where Tokyo Disney Resort’s construction will break ground and begin in earnest (or largely, what it will entail), but its pretty clear some strong winds of change are blowing at the resort, and there will be a lot of new things for guests to look forward to experiencing over the next decade.

Are you excited about all the new developments at Tokyo Disney Resort? Are you interested in a new Frozen attraction? Or are you hoping to see something else from Tokyo Disney Resort’s $4.5 billion expansion.
