4. Take advantage of meals and shopping
You have to eat, and you probably want to get some shopping done during the day. Take advantage of these built-in waits by obtaining a DAS return time right before you begin. By the time your meal or shopping diversion is over, it should be time to experience your DAS attraction. Likewise, if you plan to return to your hotel for a nap before returning to the park, obtain a DAS return time on your way out.
5. Use MDE and Single Rider lines
My Disney Experience (MDE) is a free smart phone app that allows you to manage your FastPasses, dining reservations and other details of your trip. It also has very handy functionality that allows you to check current wait times and scheduled entertainment throughout the park. While waiting for a DAS return time or FastPass Plus window to open, use MDE to find attractions with short queues in the area of the park you are already in. Although they are not listed separately in MDE, single rider lines are also a great way to minimize your time in line, as long as you don’t mind splitting up your party.
6. Enjoy the little things
A DAS does not allow you to tour the parks at a frenetic, commando pace. No matter how well you plan your day, you will end up with gaps of time to fill. Fortunately, Walt Disney World is packed with things to do that require no waiting at all. Catch the Streetmosphere performers at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Look for Hidden Mickeys. Play Agent P’s World Showcase Adventure. Ride the Liberty Square Riverboat. Slow down, look around, and take in the small details that many visitors never notice on their way to the next headliner ride.
