Busch Gardens Tampa

The National Hurricane Center has been tracking Hurricane Idalia for the past few days and it is now becoming clearer that Tampa could well be affected.

Busch Gardens has issued a statement on their social media channels stating that a decision has been made to enact its Named Storm Policy and will close Busch Gardens Tampa from 3pm Tuesday August 29 and remain closed Wednesday August 30. Busch Gardens should reopen on Thursday August 31. Adventure Island will be closed Tuesday August 29 through Thursday August 31 and is set to reopen on Friday September 1.

Guests are encouraged to continue to follow Busch Gardens social media channels for further information regarding reopening. They released this information:

"Please stay tuned to our social media channels for updates. Precautions are in place following the parks’ comprehensive weather preparedness plan to ensure the safety of our animals and ambassadors during this time. If this affects your trip, be sure to review our Weather-or-Not Assurance and check back for more updates. All date-intended tickets will be automatically extended through Aug. 31, 2024. For any ticket questions, please contact us at  [email protected]. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, and we look forward to seeing you soon!"

At the time of writing Walt Disney World and Universal Orlando Resort appear to be opening as usual.

We sincerely hope Hurricane Idalia passes without incident. For further information head to The National Hurricane Center website.
