September 6 - Any Universal fan will be closely following the progress of the highly anticipated Epic Universe which is slated to open ready for summer 2025. A new aerial photograph from Bioreconstruct shows the current progress.

Each land is becoming more into focus and we can see work having been done on what we assume will be the How to Train Your Dragon and Yoshi's Adventure in what will be Super Nintendo World.

We recently posted an article which included a photograph from Bioreconstruct of the progress that had been made on the construction of the Universe Classic Monsters land.

July 13 - It is full steam ahead now on Universal's third gate, Epic Universe and in an interesting aerial view posted by Bioreconstruct we can start to see a proposed layout for the park emerging.

There has also been a number of rumors recently that there will be a Wizarding World expansion based on the Ministry of Magic at Epic Universe. Guests would enter the main hall through the Floo network and exit through the fire places using special effects. It is speculated that this land would include an attraction to be located in the Ministry's atrium which is said to feature the story surrounding the trials of Dolores Umbridge.

Originally a trackless ride was proposed which now seems to have been scrapped. There has been nothing officially confirmed regarding these rumors but it seems like bringing the Ministry of Magic to Epic Universe would make perfect sense due to the popularity of the Wizarding World at both Universal Studios Florida and Universal's Islands of Adventure.

From the suggested layout seen on this aerial photograph above it looks like the Ministry of Magic would be positioned towards the back of the park. Let us know if you would like to see the Ministry of Magic come to Epic Universe by voting in our poll below.

June 18 - It is exciting times for Universal fans now that we have a confirmed opening date for Epic Universe and progress is pushing ahead. This week, a tweet shows track arriving for what looks to be an Intamin coaster which is the same as VelociCoaster and Hagrid's Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure. Although nothing has been confirmed, this coaster is thought to be for a family coaster themed to How to Train Your Dragon.

January 27 - It has certainly been a rocky ride for Epic Universe over the last couple of years. Epic Universe was first announced back in 2019 and was originally expected to open in 2023. It was then delayed indefinitely in April 2020 and an opening date of 2024 was predicted.

During the Comcast 2021 Q4 earnings call this morning it was announced that Epic Universe is now planning to officially open its gates ready for Summer 2025. This is definitely positive news for Universal fans as the progress of Epic Universe has been very unknown in recent months.

Reporter, Gabrielle Runson confirmed, in a tweet, the 2025 opening date which came from the morning earnings call:

We know that when Epic Universe opens as Universal Orlando Resorts third gate it will make it the largest Universal theme park in North America. We now know that Super Nintendo World will be included and we still await confirmation of themed lands based on IPs from both Illumination (which has produced hits like the Despicable Me and The Secret Life of Pets series) and DreamWorks Animation (Which is known for Madagascar, Kung Fu Panda and How to Train Your Dragon).

Though it has long-been assumed that this new park would feature another expansion of the blockbuster Wizarding World of Harry Potter lands, this has still not been confirmed yet.

It seems like every week you can see more and more progress being made on the attractions and lands they occupy. We will continue to update you with these developments as we head through 2023 on our news and Facebook page. What are you most excited about in Epic Universe?

I’m not sure if it’s too late to reconsider but for Universal’s Epic Universe in the DreamWorks area could you go back to the other option and make it look more like Fantasyland at Disney. This way it would be better because it should have more than one land from previous DreamWorks animated franchises. For Instance you should leave room too great a Madagascar land and make it just like the one in Singapore which sadly is being changed to Minions land and that’s stupid because Despicable Me is pretty common cat every Universal Studios around the world. However, Madagascar land isn’t common that land was pretty unique and while your at also make room for a Kung Fu Panda land even though there’s one at the Universal Studios in Beijing it would still be a good idea because that land will be pretty much unique also if it gets changed in the future. My point being is if you’re going to have a DreamWorks themed land don’t just let it be How to Train Your Dragon there add these two lands too it as well. If you can’t reconsider then just add these two lands separately too the park.
