Hipster Mickey

Though there are plenty of annual events going on at Walt Disney World in the coming months (including Mickey’s Not-so-Scary Halloween Party and Epcot’s International Food and Wine Festival) there are a few new things guests can check out at the resort this fall.

While there aren’t any new rides or attractions to experience, if you want to check out the latest and greatest on Disney property, here are five brand new things you simply can’t miss!

1. Attend the all-new Villains’ Sinister Soiree at Mickey’s Not-so-Scary Halloween Party

Villains Sinister Soiree

Though Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party is an annual affair, this fall a new hard-ticketed upcharge has been placed inside this already hard-ticketed event.  During the Villains’ Sinister Soiree, attendees are able to partake in special desserts, enjoy villainous entertainment exclusive to the event, and have special one-on-one character meet and greets, all inside Cinderella’s Castle. At the end of the evening, guests even get a collectible Maleficent cup to remember the special night!

Unfortunately, with all these awesome activities and special features comes a hefty price tag: $99 per guest. This is on top of the Mickey's Not-so-Scary Halloween Party admission, but reviews of this add-on experience have thus far been fairly positive, with the event selling out on several nights already. If you want to experience this event as part of your Mickeys Not-so-Scary Halloween Party evening, you’ll have to act fast!

2. Enjoy a Dole Whip at the Pineapple Lanai

Dole Whip

As part of the ongoing renovations inside the Polynesian hotel, a new quick service snack location was opened: the Pineapple Lanai. This new food kiosk is located on the ground level of the Polynesian Resort outside, near the Great Ceremonial House.

As you might have guessed by the name, the Pineapple Lanai is a great place to get one of Disney’s signature snack items: the Dole Whip! In addition to a plain pineapple soft serve, you can also get a vanilla swirl or a pineapple float at the Pineapple lanai. Though the location is very small, it’s secluded outdoor seating area makes it a great place to get a Dole Whip without dealing with intense park crowds.

3. See the new baby gorilla at Disney's Animal Kingdom

Pagani Forest

Disney’s Animal Kingdom sees plenty of baby animals born every year, and just this past August a cute little gorilla was added to the park's newest arrivals. This little guy is only a few weeks old, but guests visiting the Pangani forest walking trail can sneak a peak at mom and baby relaxing in the shade.

Though they’re not always in plain view, patient guests can wait around in the enclosed viewing area and wait for these two to make their way around the enclosure.

Interesting how Universal built a whole new section of their theme park and a new hotel in about a year and Disney gives us an over priced character event, a new store, a new fast food restaurant and a baby gorilla.
