Frozen Summer Fun

Though we knew there would be some “winter activities” included as part of the Frozen Summer Fun - Live at Disney’s Hollywood Studios event this summer, but this is one activity we didn’t expect to see join the lineup: ice skating! However, this particular activity isn’t included with admission.

Here's what we know about the Frozen ice skating rink...

1. You'll pay to get in

Disney parks confirmed Tuesday that guests who are willing to shell out $10 will be able to skate on an indoor ice-skating rink set up at Wandering Oaken’s Trading Post set up inside Soundstage One. This fee will cover 30 minutes of skating time, as well as rental skates, socks and a helmet to wear.

2. You can bring your own gear

While guests can bring their own skating gear if they so desire, they will still have to pay the $10 fee in order to use the pop-up skating facility. However, there may be an advantage to bringing your own gear if you have it, as Disney cautioned via their blog post that the attraction may close to new skaters intermittently as “Skating availability may be limited to the sizing of skates”.

3. If you get hurt, it'll be on you

As you might expect, guests who want to experience this attraction will have to sign a liability waiver, and anyone under the age of 18 will need a parent or guardian to sign a waiver for them (and accompany them on to the ice).

Though it might seem like a little bit of a pain to pay a little bit extra for this “add on” experience, $10 for rink time is actually not that bad, especially if this rink features real ice (a detail that Disney has not yet confirmed one way or another). Will you be checking out this experience this summer?

Will be checking it out but not sakting. We love FROZEN but only doing afternoon visits to DH and have other rides and dinner events planned.

I'd much rather skate at a mall where I can pay 10-15 bucks and skate as long as I want in a large rink not filled with many people.

I wouldn't want to skate but will there be a spot so people can watch. I would just love to see an ice skate rink in Orlando

No because I will be to busy waiting in line, for Harry Potter!
