The world's tallest swing ride, the Texas SkyScreamer, opened to the public at Six Flags Over Texas during the Memorial Day weekend.
While the Texas SkyScreamer is of a near-identical design to the SkyScreamer attractions at several other Six Flags parks, it tops them all by standing at a record-breaking 400-feet tall. It offers a vertigo-inducing variation on the traditional "Chair-O-Plane" ride experience, with guests being seated in chairs that dangle from a circular gondola. This spins as it rises to the top of the tower, offering views across the park and beyond.
The red, white and blue tower of the Texas SkyScreamer dominates the skyline at Six Flags Over Texas, as can be seen in the photos and video below:
In a canned statement, Steve Martindale, Six Flags Over Texas' Park President said: "We are thrilled to add the tallest swing ride in the world to our premier line up of rides and attractions. It offers the most unique ride experience for an attraction of this kind, and also lives up to the Texas mantra that everything is bigger in the Lone Star state!"
