Antarctica: Empire of the Penguin concept art

SeaWorld Orlando has released another preview video for Antarctica: Empire of the Penguin, this time featuring a look at the experience that will be offered by the innovative dark ride.

Antarctica: Empire of the Penguin will open to the public on May 24, 2013, and is being billed by SeaWorld Orlando as "the world's coldest theme park ride". The video, embedded below, shows off the trackless ride system that will enable it to offer a different experience every time, as well as the 8-person vehicles that will carry guests on their journey to "Antarctica".

Antarctica: Empire of the Penguin's plot will revolve around a gentoo penguin, who will lead guests on an adventure through icy waters from a penguin's viewpoint. At the end of the ride, guests will disembark their vehicles for a closer look at the penguins, in a similar experience to the existing Wild Arctic simulator attraction. The new exhibit will house gentoo, rockhopper, adelie and king penguins.

SeaWorld Orlando has contracted country singer Lauren Alaina to perform the official theme song for the attraction at its grand opening.

We recently listed SeaWorld Orlando's new ride as the most exciting new theme park attraction due to open in 2013.
