Holiday World has announced a host of new additions for the 2013 season, including a major new set of slides for its Splashin' Safari water park.
Dubbed RhinoBlaster, the new attraction will boast four separate tube slides, with one of these featuring a half-pipe element midway through its circuit. The slides will be located on a hillside close to the Pilgrims Plunge water ride, which is set to host a number of other new attractions in the future.
Pilgrims Plunge will itself be renamed to Giraffica, and will become part of Splashin' Safari rather than the main Holiday World theme park. In addition to RhinoBlaster and Giraffica, Splashin' Safari will also receive an updated entrance and 20 new cabanas. This continues a heavy focus on the water park that has seen the additions of the record-breaking Wildebeest and Mammoth water coasters in recent years.
A minor attraction will be added to the theme park itself, with classic "tea cup" ride Kitty's Tea Party joining the line-up in Holidog's Funtown. The park will also host a new light show during the summer season, with the Happy Halloween weekends being expanded to a total of six weekends starting from mid-September.
Full details of the changes at Holiday World for 2013 can be found in the official announcement video below:
Holiday World had been expected to have a fairly quiet 2013, having spent millions on the installation of Mammoth in 2012. The ride became the longest water coaster in the world, breaking the record set by Holiday World's own Wildebeest in 2010.
