Holiday World has reopened its Pilgrim Plunge water ride, having closed it for several days in order to conserve water.
Pilgrims Plunge reopened to guests on Friday, July 6. It had been temporarily removed from the park's line-up in order to enable water use to be conserved for the Splashin' Safari water park, after Level 1 Water Restrictions were imposed on the area surrounding the Santa Claus, Indiana park. These have now been eased, allowing the ride to return to action.
One of the most popular attractions at Holiday World, Pilgrims Plunge was the world's tallest water ride when it opened in 2009, and sees guests plunging down a 45-degree first drop from a height of 135-feet. The ride can be accessed from both the Holiday World theme park and the Splashin' Safari water park.
Holiday World's daily water usage is likely to be high during the summer, with the park having invested heavily in record-breaking water coasters for Splashin' Safari during the last two years. The most recently-opened, Mammoth, features a 1,763-feet-long circuit that sprawls across 3 acres.
