The Wet 'n Wild water park in Orlando has opened an all-new children's water play area for the 2012 season, dubbed Blastaway Beach.
Featuring 15 water slides and more than 100 soakers, waterfalls, jets and cannons, the new area is aimed primarily at younger guests. The tropically-themed zone is based around a central castle structure that stands at 60-feet-tall, and features only one entrance so that parents can easily keep an eye on their kids.
JeffLangeDVD was on hand to capture the grand opening of Blastaway Beach, which took place on June 2, 2012:
Blastaway Beach has replaced the existing Kids Park attraction at Wet 'n Wild Orlando. In total, more than 85,000 gallons of water were used to fill the two pools in the area, which covers around one acre of the International Drive-based park.
