Thorpe Park has released a video which shows the first test riders putting its new roller coaster for 2012, The Swarm, through its paces.
The riders, shown in the photos released by the park yesterday, are all ex-RAF and Red Arrows pilots. The rest run proved to be a success, with The Swarm on-track to make its full public debut on March 15, 2012.
The ride will become the first Bolliger & Mabillard Wing Rider coaster in the UK, with guests seated on "wings" on either side of the train. Its circuit features several "near-misses" with scenery elements, as can be seen in the video below:
The theme for Thorpe Park's new addition is based around war and destruction, with the coaster itself representing an invading "swarm" of aliens. It will offer a fly-through experience through a post-apocalyptic scene, with burnt-out vehicles scattered across the landscape.
