Alton Towers has confirmed that all of the horror mazes at its Scarefest 2011 Halloween events will be located inside the theme park itself.
The move marks a break with the tradition of previous years, in which the paid-for horror mazes have been located in the grounds of the Alton Towers hotel. Instead, both The Boiler House and Carnival of Screams will be hosted in the X-Sector area, inside the tent-like structure that formerly held the Black Hole rollercoaster.
Both mazes, which carry an additional charge over the standard entry fee to Alton Towers, will open and close earlier than last year. Last admissions will be at 9.30pm, with guests able to book slots in advance via the Alton Towers website. The rest of the park's rides will close at 9pm.
Alton Towers recently announced the full line-up for the Scarefest 2011 events, which will run from October 15-31. While both The Boiler House and Carnival of Screams are returning from 2010, a new, free scare zone - ZOMBIES! - will make its debut this year.
Theme Park Tourist will be attending Scarefest 2011 and will feature a review on the site shortly afterwards. You can read what we thought of last year's event in our Scarefest 2010 review.
