Disney has released a new video that shows a milestone being reached in the construction of a recreation of the Carthay Circle Theater at its California Adventure theme park.
The theater will be a central feature of Buena Vista Street, a new entrance plaza that is being installed as part of a $1.1 billion makeover of Disneyland's sister park.
The video shows an enormous cupola being installed on the roof of the building, which is a replica of the original location of the world premiere of Walt Disney's Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs in 1937.
Named after the Burbank street on which the original Walt Disney Studios are located, Buena Vista Street will be designed to resemble 1920s-era Los Angeles. Due to open in spring 2012, it will replace the former Sunshine Plaza area, which closed permanently in August 2011.
Guests entering Disney California Adventure via its new turnstiles currently follow a temporary walkway into the park.
