Storybook Circus concept art

Further concept art has been released of the Storybook Circus area, which will form part of an expanded Fantasyland at Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom.

The artwork, originally posted to the Disney Parks Blog, offers another look at the new area, which will be themed around animated Disney classic Dumbo. It will be centered around the Dumbo The Flying Elephant attraction, which will be expanded to include two identical versions of the ride to improve capacity. Two large circus tents will house the waiting area for the ride.

Alongside the Dumbo attraction, Storybook Circus will also feature an updated version of the existing Barnstormer rollercoaster. Renamed as Barnstormer - Hosted by the Great Goofini, it will receive a new theme based on stunt planes.

Storybook Circus will also be home to Casey Jr Roundhouse, a small water play area that will be located next to the Fantasyland Train Station. In this area, children will be able to splash among model animals that will squirt water at them.

The latest concept art features some differences to previous images of Storybook Circus, with slight changes to the positioning and coloring of the various elements. The previous artwork can be seen below:

The Fantasyland expansion is due to open at the Magic Kingdom in phases starting in late 2012, and will feature a range of all-new and updated attractions. The headline additions will be the Under the Sea: Journey of the Little Mermaid dark ride and the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train rollercoaster, while several new restaurants and retail outlets will also be added to the Fantasyland area.
