Four new slides, collectively known as Vanish Point, have made their debut at Busch Gardens Williamsburg's Water Country USA water park.
Two of Vanish Point's slides feature a unique opening element, in which the floor opens up beneath the feet of riders to send them plummeting down a 75-feet drop. The other two slides are regular body slides, adding to Water Country USA's existing line-up of thrill rides.
Behind the Thrills has posted the first review of Vanish Point, featuring a selection of photos of the new attraction. The site describes the body slides as "crazy and incredible all at the same time".
Busch Gardens Williamsburg was forced to delay the opening of its other new attraction for 2011 earlier this week. The 246-feet-tall Mach Tower ride will open late after the discovery of a technical fault left the park needing replacement parts from Italian manufacturer Moser Rides.
In addition to the new rides, the Oktoberfest area of the park has also been renovated for the 2011 season. This has seen the return of street performers to the area, plus the addition of new dining areas and games.
