Blackpool Pleasure Beach has confirmed that the new Nickelodeon Land area will officially open on May 4, 2011, with special previews set to take place in April.
The £10 million addition to the park will open to the public no later than 2pm on May 4, with a media event planned for the morning. No dates have been confirmed for the previews, which will act as test runs prior to the permanent opening of the area.
The new land at Blackpool Pleasure Beach will be the first Nickelodeon-themed area in the UK, with the park's owners predicting a 20% surge in attendance following its opening. Covering 6 acres on the former Beaver Creek area, it will feature more than 14 rides and shows themed around popular Nickelodeon shows and characters.
