Universal Orlando will reveal the grand opening date of the $200 million Wizarding World of Harry Potter next Thursday, March 25.

Details of the opening date and the area's signature attraction, Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey, will be revealed at 12pm EST on Universal's official Wizarding World website. It is widely expected that the Wizarding World will open at Islands of Adventure prior to May 28, as Universal is already selling vacation packages from that date.

The company has released a teaser video ahead of the announcement, which shows the stars of the Potter movies filming scenes for the Forbidden Journey attraction:

The ride is set to take place inside Universal's recreation of Hogwarts castle, and is believed to use robotic arm technology to simulate a broomstick ride through the Potter universe.

Dueling Dragons, the dueling rollercoasters which are to be rethemed as Dragon Challenge when the Wizarding World opens, are due to reopen today following a refurbishment period. Guests will continue to use a temporary entrance to the ride via the Jurassic Park area until the rest of the Wizarding World opens.

For full details of the rides, shops and restaurants that will make up the Wizarding World, see TPT's recent news story.
