Spoiler warning - do not read beyond this point if you do not wish to see more information on Thirteen's ride mechanism
As widely rumored, Thirteen features a fairly conventional rollercoaster ride through the new horror-themed "Dark Forest" area of Alton Towers, before entering the claimed "world's first" element. This takes place in a mock crypt, and sees a section of the track freefall vertically before the train exits into a backwards section.
The video confirms the validity of a 3D rendering of the ride mechanism that was released yesterday, and ends months of speculation as to the nature of Alton Towers' latest "Secret Weapon" coaster. The first public riders will find out on Saturday whether Thirteen lives up to Alton Towers' claims that it is the "scariest rollercoaster in the world".
