Universal has a released a new video of the Wizarding World of Harry Potter, the major new addition to Islands of Adventure that is set to open in Spring 2010.

The 11-minute video is featured on the DVD and Blu-ray releases of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, the sixth installment in the Potter series of movies. Released today, it includes new details on the Wizarding World, although Universal is still closely guarding the secrets of its headline attraction - Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey.

The featurette includes first-looks at the ride experiences of Flight of the Hippogriff (formerly the Flying Unicorn rollercoaster), Dragon Challenge (a re-themed Dueling Dragons) and the Forbidden Journey. It also includes footage of the Potter-themed foods that will be sold in the Wizarding World, including Cauldron Cakes, treacle fudge and Butterbeer. The film's stars Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson and Rupert Grint are interviewed, discussing their views on Universal's attempt to bring the movies to life.

Universal released a preview of the video to Orlando Attractions Magazine, which is embedded below. It features a brief fly-through of a model of the Wizarding World, but is otherwise light on details.

Universal is yet to reveal a firm opening date for the Potter-themed zone, but has advertised on its Gradbash website that guests at the event in late-April will be able to "step into" the Wizarding World. This suggests it will at least be possible to walk around it by then - but does not mean that the attractions will be up and running.

Full details of the attractions, restaurants and shops that will form part of the Wizarding World of Harry Potter can be found in TPT's recent news story.
