The website of SeaWorld Orlando's Aquatica has confirmed that a new expansion will be added to the water park in Spring 2010.
The website states that the park's Whanau Way slide will be closed until October 30, in order for construction to take place on the new expansion. It is not yet known whether the new area will feature a completely new water slide, or whether it will be an extension to the existing Whanau Way tower.
Aquatica opened in March 2008, promising to combine a traditional water park with the aquatic exhibitions for which SeaWorld is famous. However, it has been criticised by some for failing to do this, and for featuring fewer attractions than competing water parks.
The new area is the first to be confirmed at a property owned by Busch Entertainment since the company's acquisition by the Blackstone Group last month.
