Tokyo Disneyland Resort has announced two new attractions, including the high-profile addition of Toy Story Mania.
Toy Story Mania, a clone of the hugely successful attraction which opened in 2008 at Disneyland and the Magic Kingdom, will open in 2012, and be based in the American Waterfront area of Tokyo DisneySea.
The ride is themed after an old-fashioned carnival midway, and features characters from Pixar's Toy Story films. Riders are carried around in vehicles and take part in a series of virtual games, which are projected in 3D. It has drawn large crowds in the US and is likely to prove very popular when it opens in Tokyo.
Also announced was a new Cinderella-themed walk-through attraction, which will be located inside Cinderella Castle in Tokyo Disneyland Park. This is due to open in 2011.
The Japanese Disney resort has aggressive expansion plans that involve a number of new attractions, including clones of Turtle Talk and Mickey's Philharmagic, both of which are present in the resort's US counterparts.
