4. Justice League: Battle for Metropolis: Six Flags
Justice League: Battle for Metropolis is currently located at 6 different Six Flags parks, and they all opened between 2015 and 2017. The rides vary slightly but for the most part, they are the same. This is a fast-moving experience with 3D screens, an immersive set, animatronics, and even wind, mist, and fire effects. This ride also utilizes removable blasters giving riders the ability to aim more freely. You can also check out your scores at the end of the ride.
5. Wonder Mountain’s Guardian: Canada’s Wonderland
Have you ever wondered what it would be like if you meshed an interactive dark ride with a roller coaster? Well, that’s exactly what Wonder Mountain’s Guardian is. This 4D interactive ride is a half-dark ride and half-family coaster. The ride opened in 2014 and the ride vehicles rotate to allow you to face the screen to blast mythical creatures. The experience is slightly different depending on which position you are sitting in and it also incorporates a 30 ft free fall drop. It is truly one of a kind. While the main theming focuses on a battle over a dragon’s treasure, during the Halloween season, the ride becomes Zombies 4D. Of course, you are competing against other rides as well. If you enjoy unique ride experiences, this is one to check out.
6. Knott’s Bear-y Tales: Knott’s Berry Farm
This is the newest of the interactive attractions on our list. This 4D interactive dark ride opened in 2021 and replaced Voyage to the Iron Reef. It features similar shooting mechanics to Toy Story Mania. However, the “jelly” blasters are detached, and riders can aim them freely. The ride is also incredibly immersive with both screen and free-moving elements. The animations are crisp and fun, and the story is engaging. There is also a competitive aspect to the ride. If you were a fan of the original, or a fan of Toy Story Mania/Toy Story Midway Mania, definitely check this one out.
