It is the natural cycle of life for most things, something is born, it sticks around for a certain amount of time and then it dies. This is indeed the same for theme park lands and attractions.

In our recent Featured article, Is It Time To Say Goodbye To Seuss Landing At Universal's Islands of Adventure?, we explored the pros and cons of getting rid of this long standing land and potentially replacing it with something new.

We also asked you for your thoughts and you have certainly voted in abundance letting us know exactly what you think. At the time of writing, 88% of Universal fans voted that they wanted it to stay with only 12% wanting it to be closed and replaced.

For most people it appears that Dr Seuss is timeless and should remain. However, it has been rocky ground for Seuss Landing at Universal's Islands of Adventure since back in March 2021 when we saw Universal "Evaluating" Changing Parts of Seuss Landing in Wake of Controversy.

Dr. Seuss Enterprises announced that it was halting the publication of six of its books due to racist and insensitive imagery. These included “And to Think That I Saw It on Mulberry Street,” “If I Ran the Zoo,” “McElligot’s Pool,” “On Beyond Zebra!,” “Scrambled Eggs Super!” and “The Cat’s Quizzer.”

Universal released a statement outlining that they had been made aware of the issue and may be evaluating the continued presence in Universal's Islands of Adventure. In the end, Universal has not taken any action so far and Seuss Landing remains the same with the Caro-Seuss-el reopening in June 2022 after a year long refurbishment on its roof.

Seuss Landing originally opened in 1999 and its popularity remains even after almost 25 years. We await confirmation whether Universal has any plans to replace it in the near future but with 88% of those that voted desperate for it to remain, we hope no news on this is good news.
