Disney's Magical Express

There's no denying that for many visitors to Walt Disney World, Disney's Magical Express was a great perk for staying on property and a great way to start your Disney vacation.

Last week we heard the somewhat surprising news that Disney's Magical Express Ending Service Permanently Next Year. We are aware that due to the catastrophic affects of COVID-19 Disney are looking at any avenue to cut costs and it looks like Disney's Magical Express will unfortunately be ending forever starting in 2022.

In our Big Debate this week we ask, With No Disney's Magical Express in 2022, Are You More Likely To Stay Off Property?

Although Disney are currently offering some very appealing discounts and deals for those guests choosing to stay on property, for many with finances stretched and the cancelling of Disney's Magical Express, are we going to see more visitors choosing to spend their Disney vacation off property?

As some readers have said, this poll won't change anything, Disney will do what they want anyway. Yes, that is inevitably true but it is so important for people to be able to voice their views on issues and hopefully this will give those who want it that opportunity. Please as always be respectful when replying to other readers comments. We are very proud of our community of theme park fans we have on Theme Park Tourist.

Honestly, it will make me less likely to go to WDW at all. The Magical Express took my stress away. Without that unique benefit, I will travel elsewhere.

While I won't be more likely to stay off-site, I am more likely not to visit the Parks at all. Traveling with a family of 6, Magical Express has been a huge time, effort and money saver for us during our trips to DisneyWorld. Paying for an upgraded Uber/Lyft which can transport 6 people, 6 suitcases and 6 carry-on bags is not an additional expense I'd like to have. Nor is renting a Large SUV for an entire week, just to stay on property the entire time. When we visit the Parks, we stay on-site for the duration of our visit. As the children get older and would like to visit another Orlando area theme park for a day, I would have no problem paying a taxi service for that one trip - in a standard size vehicle with no more than a backpack or two amongst us. We have visited during the pandemic, and while the lack of the baggage service was a minor inconvenience compared to prior trips, that service discontinuing would not keep us from visiting. Ending Magical Express in its entirety, likely will. Very disappointed when this was announced.
