Blackpool Pleasure Beach has announced its latest thrill ride: Sky Force.
As the first Sky Fly attraction in the UK, the ride will see thrill seekers take to the skies in Red Arrows themed gondolas as they somersault 72 feet in the air.
To be built by Gerstlauer Amusement Rides, the unique attraction will also be the first Red Arrows themed amusement ride in the world.
Blackpool Pleasure Beach’s managing director Amanda Thompson OBE said: “The Red Arrows are a British institution so it was a perfect fit for the UK’s number one amusement park to work with them.”
She continued: “They are an amazing sight to see when they are in the skies and I am certain our new ride will give our guests a unique thrill they will want to experience again and again.”
The announcement comes after Pleasure Beach teased fans on Facebook days leading up to its official unveiling.
Codenamed Project 2015 throughout its development, the ride will replace Bling.
The Zierer Star Shape attraction shuttered in 2011 but now operates at Skyline Park in Germany under the name Sky Jet.
The Gerstlauer Sky Fly offers riders the unique opportunity to control the intensity of their experience.
Sky Force is expected to recruit pilots from Spring 2015.
