A soft opening of the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train at Disney's Magic Kingdom is expected soon after the first riders were spotted on board the attraction.
The riders were all wearing safety vests, indicating that they are most likely Disney Imagineers, engineers and/or executive-level staff. Their presence on the attraction indicates that it has been deemed safe to ride, making it very likely that "technical rehearsals" will begin soon. This will probably see Cast Members invited to ride the attraction first, before guests are able to experience the attraction - all before its official opening.
Disney continues to promise that the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train will open "in spring 2014", which in theory gives until mid-June to open the coaster. However, an official dedication ceremony for the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train will take place on May 2, and it now appears probable that a soft opening will begin before then.
In the meantime, Disney fans will have to satisfy themselves with the latest preview video for the attraction, which takes guests on an animated ride-through of parts of the attraction:
The Seven Dwarfs Mine Train will take guests on a tour around the diamond mine from Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, as well as through the enchanted forest and Snow White's cottage. The ride's main gimmick is its unique cars, which will swing outwards as they round corners in the track. Disney's signature audio-animatronic characters are also set to feature heavily in the family-friendly ride.
