Universal Studios Florida opens Transformers store ahead of ride's debut

Universal Studios Florida has opened a new store dedicated to Transformers merchandise, ahead of the debut of Transformers: The Ride - 3D later this summer.

Walkaround characters based on Transformers favorites Optimus Prime and Bumblebee were on hand to greet guests as the store opened for the first time. Both characters will also feature in the ride itself, which is a clone of the existing Transformers: The Ride - 3D at Universal Studios Hollywood and Universal Studios Singapore.

Inside the Magic was on hand to capture a number photos of the new Supply Vault store, as well as the video below:

Transformers: The Ride - 3D will employ a very similar system to the Amazing Adventures of Spiderman attraction at neighboring Islands of Adventure. As with the Michael Bay-directed movies it is based upon (and the earlier toys and cartoons), it features robots that "transform" into cars, planes, tanks and other vehicles. Riders are placed into the middle of a pitched battle between the human-friendly Autobots and the evil Decepticons.
