Paultons Park has hinted at the addition of more new attractions in 2012 and beyond, following the successful opening of its new Peppa Pig World area.
Speaking to Theme Park Tourist in a video interview (embedded below), Commercial Director Stephen Lorton said that the park is currently in the process of deciding on its next project. Having opened Peppa Pig World, which is aimed at children aged 1-6, the park is now considering new attractions aimed at older age groups.
Lorton said: "We're always looking at developing - virtually every year we put something else in new. Obviously, it's important to us that we spread our attractions across different age groups, so we've got the opportunity to do something for slightly older children next time."
According to Lorton, the next new ride or show could be an indoors attraction to complement George's Spaceship Play Zone, the large undercover playground area located in Peppa Pig World. He went on to say that the park will have to "wait and see" where the plans lead over the next couple of weeks.
While it will look to add new rides in the coming years, Paultons Park is unlikely to expand Peppa Pig World in the near future. Lorton said of the new land: "Peppa Pig World is pretty much it in terms of area. It's a permanently built attraction. Over the years we'll look to develop it as we will other things in the park, but I think there's other things we could do in the park as well which would be of bigger short term benefit to us rather than doing something in Peppa Pig World, which is so new to us now."
Peppa Pig World spans a 3-acre area of Paultons Park, and includes 7 brand-new rides, alongside indoor and outdoor playgrounds, a toy shop, a cafe and a handful of other attractions. Each of the rides is designed to fit with the plot of an episode of the popular Peppa Pig TV series.
