Toy Story Midway Mania fans can now replicate part of the experience at home, following the release of a Nintendo Wii game based on the popular Disney attraction.
The ride, at Disney's California Adventure and Disney's Hollywood Studios, sees guests taking part in a series of midway-style games hosted by the characters from Pixar's Toy Story movies. The Wii version replaces the "gun" of the attraction with the Wii remote, but retains the 3D elements which can be experienced using paper glasses that come with the game (though this is optional).
In addition to the games featured in the attraction - pie throwing, egg throwing, balloon popping, plate smashing, ring tossing and suction cup shooting - the Wii version also features some new additions. These are a "test of strength" game (with players swinging a hammer as hard as possible) and a skee ball-like game (with players trying to roll balls into holes).
The Wii game is the second version to be based on the attraction, with an iPhone version being released last month. Toy Story Mania for the Wii is priced at around $40-50 and is available from game stores and online.
