When it opened, SeaWorld Orlando billed the new Antarctica: Empire of the Penguin area as its "biggest ever attraction expansion". It features a unique new dark ride, which enables guests to experience life at the bottom of the world through the eyes of a penguin. The park claimed that it would be the coldest theme park ride in the world, and the most thrilling family attraction in Orlando. As you leave the ride you can see 5 species of penguins in their extremely cold enclosure and can see them both below water and above.  During COVID restrictions the ride has been closed, but the penguins are still accessible.
