The Dollywood Express isn't just a standard miniature railway attraction. The ride has been in place at the park since its opening day, when it was known as Rebel Railroad. It features a 2.5 mile circuit that passes through some stunning scenery, and the carriages are pulled by genuine steam locomotives that used to operate on the Pass & Yukon Route.

Reviews of Dollywood Express:

Best Theme Park Train

Of all the theme park train rides I've been on I have to say the Dollywood Express is quite simply the best! Unlike other parks, Dollywood doesn't use miniature or scaled down trains. They use full sized steam trains, and for good reason. The railroad actually climbs up a grade into the mountains surrounding the park. The only down side is because it is a real working locomotive you can get ashes and soot in your eyes. If you visit Dollywood you can't miss this scenic, relaxing ride on a piece of history.
