Mattel Adventure Park, an exciting venture by the renowned toy company, Mattel, has certainly garnered a lot of attention and excitement in recent months. The new theme park featuring popular toys from Hot Wheels to Barbie is currently set to open in Glendale, Arizona in 2024.

The Mattel Adventure Park will be the first-ever theme park featuring attractions based on these iconic properties and will be a part of the larger VAI resort, which is also under construction. However, to truly stand out in the competitive world of theme parks, we think Mattel should capitalize on the popularity and success of this summer’s Barbie movie.

By incorporating more Barbie-related attractions, they can create a magical experience that not only draws fans of the iconic doll but also sparks the imagination of a new generation.

It has already been announced by Mattel that the new park will include a life-size version of Barbie’s beach house. This house will include a look in Barbie’s iconic closet which will feature hologram technology that will bring the doll to life.

Additionally, there will be a restaurant and bar complete with special themed drinks and food and panoramic views of the park. While these additions sound great, there is more that Mattel could add to Mattel Adventure Park to really capitalize on the continued popularity of Barbie. The Barbie movie is one of the biggest box office successes of all time, and Mattel would be foolish not to use that popularity within their new park.

Interactive Attractions, Rides, and Live Entertainment

First, Mattel should include an entire Barbie Land. Just like the fantastical land of the movie, Barbie Land can include both the beach house that has already been announced and a Barbie dreamhouse. They could incorporate the dreamhouse as a playground where children could enjoy exploring and finding fun hidden details. They could even include a Mojo Dojo Casa House as part of the playground. Playgrounds are great additions to theme parks because they give parents a chance to relax while kids get to run around and play.

Live entertainment could be another staple of this land. One of Barbie's most iconic features is her impeccable fashion sense. A Barbie fashion show could show Barbie’s most recognizable looks and even invite guests to strut their stuff on the catwalk. It would be a great interactive experience for families that could incorporate many of the different Barbies showcased in the movie.

Of course, you couldn’t have Barbie-themed live entertainment and not include a cavalcade. This mini parade could include Barbie and Ken in the one and only Barbie sportscar greeting guests as they cruise through the park. Finally, the park could offer daily meet-and-greet sessions with life-sized Barbie and her friends. Children and adults alike could pose for photos, get autographs, and chat with their favorite versions of Barbie from surgeon Barbie to disco Barbie.

Mattel Adventure Park could also incorporate a Barbie-themed ride or interactive attraction as well. Imagine a thrilling ride through various Barbie movie worlds. Visitors can hop into pink convertible cars and journey through iconic Barbie settings, such as the beach, “Weird” Barbie’s house, and even locals from the popular animated movies. The varying environments would be recognizable to children and adults, and the ride can include 4D effects, making it a multisensory adventure.

To inspire young minds, a Barbie-themed learning and discovery center could teach kids about various careers through interactive exhibits. It could even be turned into a ride with a format like Journey into Imagination with Figment. It would encourage children to dream big and pursue their aspirations, just like Barbie. This would be an incredible attraction that would be truly unique.

Incorporating Barbie-related attractions within Mattel Adventure Park presents an exciting opportunity to capitalize on the popularity and success of the Barbie movie. By creating an entire Barbie-themed land, Mattel can attract fans of all ages and inspire new generations with the message of endless possibilities and dreams.
