"China to Canada?" Why do Norway and Mexico get left out?

Does anyone know how the gold colored spaceship model on the pylon in front of destination space got damaged. I have older pictures that show it whole and more recent ones that show the left upper tail find glued back together with cracks still showing and the right upper tail fin cut short and ground straight.

Here's another Norway one if it's determined the old maelstrom painting one needs to be replaced:

While the Norway pavilion was built and opened after EPCOT opened, there is an opening day structure within the pavilion. When the park was opened they built bathrooms with a old European style on the plot between Mexico and China. Several years later when they were building the Norway pavilion the opening day bathrooms where incorporated into the pavilion design/layout.

"If you walk around the entire World Showcase lagoon, from China to Canada, you've covered a distance of some 1.25 miles." The first country to the left as you enter the World Showcase is actually Mexico. If you start at China you've missed Mexico and Norway.

I knew 27 of these, but pleased to have learned more.

I'm working at epcot. i thank the restroom at morocco need to be rebuilt. it always wet and the wall of the restroom always wet . especially the companion restroom . i lke the world showcases.

Anyone know why the clock on the American Pavilion has 4:00 in Roman numerals as iiii and not iv ?

It's the same way on cinderella castle too. I saw an article a while back explaining it, but can't seem to find it. Something about the time period I think. (NOT entirely sure though.) If you do a google image search of roman numeral clocks, it's split about half between iiii and iv though.

It is to give symmetry to a watch/clock. If you look at it all numbers are equal size but 4 if IV is used it would not match the 8 VIII so they use IIII to make it look nicer.

Cinderella Castle's "IIII" is actually based on a more traditional form of Roman numerals used in early times, including Colonial America, and can also be seen at the original castle clock in the Cinderella movie. The same numbering convention can be seen on the clock in the American Pavilion in Epcot (among other places).

Wow, I have been to Epcot a few times and had no idea. Next time I go I am definitely going to try some of these out. Very interesting and cool, thanks for sharing!

On main street in the back of the candy store there is a small hat store with an old fashion phone...if you pick it up and listen you can ease drop on Mr Disney having a conversation. ..also if you go into the barbershop and ask for a mickey special you will get a surprise

What is a "fashion phone" and how can it be old? Or were you trying to say "old-fashioned phone"?

The building for Soarin is painted a specific Sky Blue to help hide the enormous structure from World Showcase. Look past the Canada pavilion from China to notice (or not notice) the structure.

Not too exciting, but there's a survey marker in Epcot... I believe it's near the stroller parking area outside The Nemo ride.

One day, I was doing overtime at the Living Seas and tried to find my way to their break room. I got lost and ended up at a high end lounge on the third floor. The next time I pulled overtime there, I brought it up to some of the regulars who took me on a tour of the place after the park opened. It's an event space that can be rented out.

In Walt Disney World, hundreds of people sneak guns into the parks everyday. That's a hidden secret too!

15. In the dark is inaccurate; Morocco AND Norway both remain dark.

A reason for Morocco is still religious reasons, but the reasons for Norway has a varied answer, some say because they were both built after Epcot's original opening or that Morocco's religious preference also dictates that Norway's lights be down as well.

Corrected. Thanks!

Norway remains dark only for aesthetic reasons. It provides balance so that darkened Morocco doesn't stand out.

Worked at Epcot in early 2000s. Norway remains unlit during the show because of the Stave Church. Epcot aims not to make a party out of religious symbols.

How could they forget the building in front of the Norway bakery !! And the red doors in china !! Also the secret elevator in the land where if you press 2 and 3 at the same time you go to a secret level !!

The trash can is still there. You are.thinking of PUSH, this is not the same. This is prerecorded messages.

The water fountains dont talk outside MouseGear.

The excess fuel is burned off during the opening sequence of Illumination. They havent done the excess fuel blow off in years.

Thanks.

I tried the drinking fountains on my last visit and assumed they were just turned off. But it does seem that they are gone for good (which means a number of guide books need updating).

Have replaced them above with the Kraft VIP Lounge in The Land and another American Adventure oddity.

As soon as a guide book is made, it is incorrect about many things. That is one reason I like the ebook versions of the guide books. The authors usually try to update those as things change. Plus, once you buy the book, it is yours for life.

I'm thinking that number 3 is not longer true as locally (Orlando area) we heard that the contract was not renewed, so the talking trash can is not more.......hopefully I mis-understood, but I don't think so.
