How about this for a new name which I haven't been able to get out of my head for weeks for all its genius: Disney Hut. Another good one proffered by a friend of mine but which I find a tad too complicated is The Hades Of American Materialism And Plastic.

At least the Tower of Terror is set in stone. Or at least if should be. My only favorite attraction now considering Universal shamefully got rid of Twister Ride It Out

Surprised that Jack Sparrow declined so quickly in popularity. When we were there in summer of '13 it was packed constantly and my granddaughter was not able to see a lot because everyone was taller than her. Was actually looking forward to seeing it again now that she's taller.

How about a giant Death Star?

I saw someone on another site suggest Disney's Hollywoodland which...Ugh. I don't like. Disney's Hollywood Adventure sounds a lot better to me. Only other idea I had was Disney's Magic of Hollywood, but I feel like that's more of a store name.

As for removing the hat, all for it! I don't hate the hat itself, but its placement and its usurping of the existing icon and sight lines is just incredibly disappointing. Especially since there's not even any useful purpose to it. Unlike the (far smaller, but much more appealing) Sorcerer's Hat at WDS, which forms part of the Art of Disney Animation attraction.

Along those lines, I'd be fine with the park recycling the hat as part of an expanded and improved Animation pavilion, though I suspect the reboot will obviate that purpose.

They frequently refer to it as Hollywoodland in the Frozen Sing-along.

Hollywood Studios is the most appropriate name.. The hat should be placed elsewhere.. But don't change the name..

I would go to Hollywood studios if the change was like California Adventures. We attended once in California and love the rides their. It reminded me of an old amusement park. Great idea.

It should be "Disney's Florida Adventure".

But the Park has nothing to do with Florida(except being located there). If you go look at the recent article about the parks dedications, you will understand what the Hollywood studios was all about.

I agree with Michael S. Being from California, I've always found the Hollywood part extremely confusing.

Making room for Cars Land?

I still call it MGM! I kind of understand about the hat, but it is an icon! I feel with the MGM Studios name change and now the removal of the hat icon, it is like getting rid of Disney!

Unlike others, I really liked the part of that park which involved the working studios. I love the Art of Animation section and the tributes to the movies in attractions and shops. I hate the "adventure" rides and shows that took over the park, and the last time I was there, I really didn't care about spending much time there at all. If they go in that direction, I won't have to worry about splitting my time at WDW at whatever they decide to name it. (Like the Sorcerer Hat and would love it to appear elsewhere, but preferred the ability to view the long shot to the theatre.)

I agree. I liked it WAY more when it was MGM and they focused on the studio side of things. The attractions showing old movies, to me, was one of the best things at Disney.

With their purchase of star wars, lets hope it's more cool star wars rides or something

Not only new Star War rides but also a Star Wars Land or Park. Star Wars has been around for nearly 40 years and still going strong and with Disney's purchase of the Star Wars franchise (and the Marvel's franchise as while), the opportunities are limitless.

Marvel will never be in a Disney park east of the Mississippi unless Disney pays to re-theme that part of Islands of Adventure. Considering how much Disney and Universal compete I do not see that happening anytime in the future.

Hopefully they reuse the hat. Maybe as you enter the park off to one side or the main entrance as you come in disney world. It still is an icon in my book

How about "Disney's Florida Adventure"?

While I'm not all that bummed out about the removal of the hat, despite me never knowing a Hollywood Studios without one, what is grinding my gears the most is the name change, I mean, how many times do they have to change the name of this park? Besides, Hollywood Studios just sounds and flows better than Hollywood Adventure.

MGM - Hollywood Studios is one of my favorite parks!

I am very pleased with the removal of the hat - yes I love Sorcerer Mickey but the hat was supposed to be temporary and was left up too long (just like that darn wand was left too long as an eyesore to Spaceship Earth - so happy it's gone!) MGM (yes, I still call it MGM) has been modified, changed, and rearranged so many times since it opened that it is a jumbled mess. I hope they figure it out. If they do finally make it a great park up to the caliber of the other 3, their next problem will be to fix that teeny tiny parking lot!!!

To me from being a past castmember removing the hat is a great idea it will open flow a lot better but name change idk rumour is there adding lands so I think naming Hollywood adventure or Disneyland florida

i think it will be a great improvement...Hollywood Adventure seems appropriate...my fiancé and I were there for the first time in September and found it harder to manuever than the other parks. By removing the hat ( which I like, just not its placement) I think the flow of the park will be better. As for the name, some people still call it MGM so I don't think it will matter what it's called as long as it has fun attractions!
