WHSmith is currently giving away 2-for-1 vouchers for Merlin's UK theme parks with any purchase. The vouchers can be used at Alton Towers, Chessington World of Adventures, LEGOLAND Windsor and Thorpe Park, as well as a number of other attractions operated by Merlin Entertainments Group.

The vouchers are distributed in strips of 4, and are given away with any purchase from WHSmith high street or travel stores (there is no minimum spend). They can then be used on the gates at the theme park (not when ordering tickets online), allowing one guest to gain free entry with a full paying adult.

The potential savings can be significant. For example, single-day adult tickets for Alton Towers cost £42 pounds each on the gate and £31.50 online. Using the voucher will enable you to purchase them for £21 each, a saving of 33% on the online price.

Please note that no end date has been given for this offer, and some stores may not be participating. If you find that WHSmith are no longer distributing the vouchers, please let us know via the comments section below.

The 2-for-1 vouchers can be used on most days during the 2012 season, but some block-out dates do apply:

• Alton Towers - November 2-4, 2012.
• Thorpe Park - April 6-9, July 2-6, July 9-13, July 16-20, October 26 - November 5.
• LEGOLAND Windsor - March 24-25, October 27 - November 4.

Other attractions covered by the vouchers include Madame Tussauds London and Blackpool, Warwick Castle, the LEGOLAND Discovery Centre Manchester, the Dungeons (Edinburgh, Blackpool, York and London), Blackpool Tower and Sea-Life centres and sanctuaries.
