Located in Kettering, Northamptonshire, Wicksteed Park is set in a sprawling area of parkland. Its rides are spread across several themed areas, including the Playground (which is free to use), the Fairground (boasting rides aimed at kids and young teenagers), Lakeside (hosting several water rides) and the Arena (home to the park's largest rides). The park's most famous attraction is its railway, which has been operating since 1931.
Park History
First opened in 1921, Wicksteed Park is named after its founder, Charles Wicksteed. Run by a charitable trust set up by Wicksteed before his death, it is still home to a number of vintage attractions. As well as the famous narrow gauge railway, the Water Chute ride is the one of the oldest rides of its type, having made its debut in 1926.
