I loved Toon Town at Walt Disney World. I learned of the greed of Disney when they moved it to Disneyland and replaced it with Circus World. I was told by a park employee that it was Disney's way of making you visit both parks if you wanted to see it. Why couldn't Disney have Toon Town in both parks. Circus World is disgusting.

They didn't move it to Disneyland. Mickey's Toontown has been in California since 1993. Mickey's Birthdayland (Which became Mickey's Starland and eventually Mickey's Toontown Fair) opened in 1988. Yes, Disney liked trying to keep things different to coax people to visit the other parks, but mostly the main draws stay the same. They probably had a lot of people confused about the theming (it's Mickey's country house and the idea of the county fair theme was probably lost on a lot of kids), and replaced by Dumbo's Circus.

I agree Disney needs to add new attractions to keep relevant but keep all the classics because they are beloved to people. It`s not the same without a "Little old fashion.

I don't remember the exact name, but the sky buckets across the park. Would love to have those back. Nice and relaxing ride.

Mr. Toad's Wild Ride. Was fantastic fun cheesy goodness. The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh, booooring.

Sorry, but I LOVE Pooh's ride! It had just been built fairly recently the first time I went as an adult, and I rode it several times! Thank goodness I also got to ride Snow White before it left. The bad part is they were building Mission: Space when we were there and started on Expedition Everest AFTER we got home so I haven't ridden those yet-more reasons to go back! Mickey's Philharmagic and Carousel of Progress were also closed, 1st one for refurb, 2nd due to low seasonal crowds in Nov. I did get to ride the orignal Test Track though, but Soarin' wasn't there yet. I loved The Seas aquarium, but I also love the videos I've watched of The Seas with Nemo. I absolutely loved Maelstrom and I'm disappointed they're redoing it as a Frozen attraction. Make a Frozen ride elsewhere!

All in all, the changes are ultimately for the best as rides do get old and stale, even the classics. I'm super-stoked about all the changes they've already made and are continuing to make, with expanding Star Wars land, building Cars Land, and Avatar Land, not to mention the New Fantasyland! Ariel's Undersea Adventures looks outstanding, even though I've only seen the video (bunches of times!)-Mine Train is OK and better than nothing-I'm glad to have another coaster, PERIOD, even though it's a mild family coaster-it's better than most kiddie coasters!

What I'm not looking forward to is what they're getting ride of to build some of this new stuff at HS-possibly the Indiana Jones Stunt Show (EGADS! I was in this when I went and I loved it!), maybe Muppet-Vision 3D, and possibly even the rest of the Backlot Tour (some of it was already removed for Lights, Motors, Action Stunt Show). It looks like they're removing the oldest and worst of the area to build the new stuff-but I love the IJ Stunt Show and the Muppets! The Backlot tour, while cheesy, was still fun to me! Probably not something to do often though, as many parts were BORING!

Glad they're getting rid of American Idol, even though I loved Who Wants To Be A Millionaire: Play It!, and I was beyond glad that Sounds Dangerous closed 2 years ago-WORST WASTE OF TIME IN ALL OF 4 PARKS on an 8 day vacation-worse even than our rest days when we only played putt putt and visited Wide World of Sports and ate at the sports cafe.

I can't wait for Avatar Land and Star Wars Land, but I've seen the videos of Cars Land from CA-it's cool for kids, but not that great for me. The main race ride is something I'd ride though. What I really want to know is what's after Avatar Land? I'm soooo glad they spent all this money and time to do SO MANY MAJOR UPGRADES within just a handful of years! That's a sign of good management, even if it is just to keep up with Universal's Harry Potter stuff (and HP & The Forbidden Journey was the biggest mind trip of a ride I've ever been on-I went a few years ago!)-Escape from Gringott's is going to be amazing too!

Mealstrom is changing?! No!! One of my very favorites! I loved fFrozen, but don't mess with my Maelstrom!!

I like the mine ride, it may be tame but it was really fun. Not excited for Avatar land (I actually dislike the movie) and wish they would do the mystical beasts expecially with the whole Harry Potter in Universal. Gringotts is a wonderful ride. First time I rode it was very soon after it opened and the three hour wait was worth it, though being in an "elevator" with a floor that feels like a trampoline is kind of disconcerting.

i soooo LOVED the people movers at disneyland. i was UPSET when they removed them. i was excited when they put in the rocket rods. those were fun. im equally upset that they removed those too. QUIT REMOVING AWESOME RIDES

I understand Disney needs to make new rides to keep people coming,But leave the old rides alone,As children we came to disney to dream and have fun,You have 43 miles of land build the new rides on that land leave our old rides alone please.Dont be like our goverment and not listen to the people that butter your bread,I have been to Disney 30 times in 2005,,Stop trying to improve rides that dont need it,Just a friendly thought!!!

THE SEAS? R U SERIOUS ITS AMAZING NEMO IS GREAT AND WE LOVED FIGMENT IN 2011 STITCHS GREAT ESCAPE IS SCARY AND IT HURTS YOUR NECK! NO SHOULDNTVE TAKEN OUT SNOW WHITE TO MAKE A ROLLERCOASTER

Well...let's see how the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train Ride will be before we judge.

Chester and Hester's. What a cheap waste of space. And the Legend of Jack Sparrow. As my friend calls it, the best pre-show he's ever seen.

Stitch's Great Escape. Worst. Refurb. Ever. The attraction Was WAY better as Extra-TERROR-estral Alien Encounter! And, I'm a little bias. My step-father was an imagineer, and got to work on the original project . This, was one of his Crown Jewels
During his time as an imagineer. He got to work closely with George Lucas. And, George Lucas even named the little alien Skippy after my step-father Skip. :-)

I agree! I don't know why they changed Extraterrestrial to Stitch! Ugh! Even my 80 year old mother was deeply disappointed at the change! Every time we pass by the ride, she says, "What were they thinking?!?!"

I loved your step-father's original scary attraction! One of my favorites!

I totally agree,
Extra Terrorestral alien encounter was brilliant.
All my family loved it,
We did stitch once and NEVER EVER bothered in all the times we were back.
We were so terribly disapointed in it as stitch.

I miss it, too! It made more sense. It's function was to get your heart racing and scare you a bit. What the heck does Stitch have to do with that?? The only thing I can think is that they were trying to make it more kid friendly, but still... I wish they would change it back!

I have to admit I an not a fan of Finding Nemo the ride, or the new Little Mermaid ride. I think Maelstrom is definitely due for a makeover as is the boat ride in Mexico. As for Disney's Hollywood Studios.... I am not a fan of anything they have done in the space between Toy Story Midway Mania and walk through Walt Disney exhibit. I also am not fond of Lights, Motors, Action and think it could be home to some kid friendly attractions like at California Adventure. Oh, and don't get me started on Hester and Chester's...lol!

I am a beyond HUGE DISNEY FREAK...I think what bothers me the MOST about the missing rides or changes are 2 BIG ones in WDW...Snow White and the original song from Carousel of Progress!!!!!! I still have no idea why they removed the Snow White ride. She was Walt's 1st princess and the ride was awesome!! Super sad that my now 3 year old daughter will never have the chance to experience it. As for the song ... another Disney mystery...why change it!! 2 of the biggest things to me...the only other is 20,000 leagues under the sea...another great...gone!!! Will always love Disney..Own 2 timeshares and will be there for 2 weeks this year...but as I said mysteries!!!!!

Actually, the song you hear in Carousel of Progress IS the original song. I like both. I do think they need to scrap that last scene and go totally retro with it. It's painfully outdated. I mean, virtual reality game goggles? Please. lol Put the original final scene in there. Forget trying to keep up with the future.

Well, the whole reason they ripped out Snow White was because they wanted to build the 7 Dwarfs Mine Train, which told the same story in a different way, and they even used some of the effects from the original in it. They didn't want 2 rides at the same park based on the same cartoon. Snow White is still in an Asian park though I think.

Snow White is still in Disneyland in Anaheim, Disneyland Paris and Tokyo Disneyland.

I am annoyed they took a dark ride out and replaced it with another meet and greet :-(

Ahh thank you! You might have changed my mind a bit there. I look forward to going back and trying it again rather than how I thought it was completely ruined. Still sad its not how I liked it but like the competition element. Sounds kind of like the interactive route they went down with spaceship earth(even though that wasn't a competition)

Hey Folks,
I feel quite differently about Test Track. I wasn't a fan of the original ride, it was the start of the era of cutting corners for greedy profiting that Michael Eisner started. Don't get me wrong, I don't disagree that the finale of the ride was truly inspired, but the majority of the ride was a big let down compared to the old school ride it replaced World of Motion. Either the sets were a garage or nothing at all painted black. Next step was removing all the planned sets for Countdown to Extinction (now Dinosaur) and simply painting the interior black.

Having just returned from WDW and riding the new Test Track, I can say that Tron and Test Track's look are only slightly similar. The people I've observed likening it to Tron are usually huge Tron fans. One of which actually created a Tron soundtrack to sync up and play through earphones when he rides (insidethematic.net)! I got off the ride feeling very strongly that THIS is what the ride should have been originally. Plus it's got a whole new element of competition that can't be readily ascertained from watching the POVs on YouTube. Every party riding in the vehicle has the chance to design their own car that gets scored after each trial with a finale ranking after the finale.

It was a major improvement from its previous setting and theme. I can't wait to ride it again just like the little 5 year old girl sitting next to me who began screaming "AGAIN, AGAIN, AGAIN!!!!" as soon as it pulled into the disembarking station. I love Test Track now while I couldn't have cared less about its previous version.

I love the new version. I loved designing my own car and then testing it. Awesome concept. i wasn't too crazy about the old version.

The Living Seas with Nemo and Friends. It is such a waste of space for what was once a really neat aquarium. The Little Mermaid ride. I enjoyed the Snow White Scary Adventures more than The Little Mermaid.

In reply to by Tonphanan (not verified)

The Little Mermaid did not take over the space that Snow White was in. The Princess Fairytale Hall did.

Glad you guys agree with me, I just don't see why! Like you say the original one was worth waiting despite the faults, it had character but this new one seems too modern.

One of my favourite rides at Epcot was Test Track! So brilliantly themed and exhilarating to ride.

I hold my hands up that I haven't been fortunate to go back yet and ride the new version, but I have watched the point of view videos of the new version and seen the changes made.

WHY!? The ride was so popular, always had long queues and fast passes that ran out early, so I don't know why they felt the need to theme it around tron. Ok the ride was not linked to a Disney film, but few rides at epcot are.

I just feel that it has now lost it's character and the views inside the ride have been spoiled. It's disappointing that a ride I loved! has been spoiled for no reason.
Any one else feel the same?

In reply to by Visitor (not verified)

I totally agree!
The first version of Test Track was far better.
After only one attempt at the new 'design your car' feature, I rode only on the single rider queue so I could bypass it.

In reply to by Visitor (not verified)

I also I agree I loved the old test track, im from Australia and when I brought my kids over in 2012 it was closed which was a huge disappointment to my kids as I'd told them all about it. I travelled over last year just myself and my daughter stood in line for hours and then it broke down a number of times including when we were on the ride. After standing in line for such a long time and have it break down while on the ride I was not impressed at all.. No fast passes were given to those of us to be compensated. What a huge let down that ride now is, I've heard it's still having issues like the original test track but at least the original was more exciting.

In reply to by Visitor (not verified)

It's not themed around Tron. The idea is you're taking the car you designed onto a virtual test track. There is no mention of Tron anywhere in the ride or queue.

In reply to by Visitor (not verified)

It's not Tron, but bears a striking resemblance to something from Tron. I never got to ride the original Test Track, but rode it in the Tron like incarnation. I didn't find it to be great, but it wasn't terrible. I'm also looking more for thrills, so Disney parks just really aren't quite what I'm looking for. However, I've been across the US for different parks, and Disney by far has the most immersive experience.

Yes, and my favorite part of the ride was being in the area where it drove around cones and tested brakes and such, and there were street lamps and trees and it was dark like you were in a real parking light at night, because the room was so HUGE and you couldn't see any walls-the whole attraction is GIMONGOUS! But that whole scene has changed drastically. But it was amazing to know that you were indoors and the sun was shining outside, then suddenly you felt like you were outdoors at night.

make that parking lot, not light!
