Biography

Midwestern Disney Parks and Universal Parks enthusiast who punctuates trips to the Temple of the Forbidden Eye with visits to Busch Gardens Williamsburg, Islands of Adventure and Kings Island. I moonlight (er, daylight) as a teacher at one of the world's largest science centers. I'm a "globetrotter" wannabe (so far, Tokyo Disney Resort is my most far-flung adventure) and tireless backyard Imagineer.

Favorite ride genre would be ancient adventures... Pharos Lighthouse fanatic; big emotional blubbering mess who's somehow personally invested in Disney California Adventure; favorite roller coaster is a family ride in Virginia. Currently working on a Lost Legends series chronicling lost attractions and a Dateline Disaster series of infamous failures. Get in touch with thoughts and requests!

60,000 people per day visit Magic Kingdom, and at some point, you're likely to end up at the back of a line behind many of them. That’s when capacity matters.

EDITORIAL: In 1982, EPCOT Center was the future embodied. A realm of industry, technology, innovation, and corporate power, Future World defied all that "Disney" had meant, purposefully dispensing with princesses, pirates, castles, and cartoons in favor of a scientific look at the history and future of our world. for fans of Imagineering, there's only one thing more interesting than a special effect that works: a special effect that doesn't.

EDITORIAL: Back when Disneyland opened, it represented a revolutionary new way to entertain guests. Among Walt's edicts: his park wouldn't sell peanuts, gum, cotton candy, or ice cream bars; it would charge an entry fee; it would be built by filmmakers, not carnies... And – according to some, most important of all – it wouldn't serve alcohol. That's about to change. Will it destroy Disneyland...?
